Dined recently with family at Pickled Evenings the menu had a range of options and we ended up settling on the banquet. Entree was a samosa and tandoori chicken which was good and then mains were four curries beef vindaloo, butter chicken, lamb and spinach and lentils. Mains were served with rice and naan bread and replenished if needed. All mains were nicely flavoured and being more of a hotter curry fan I enjoyed the vindaloo. Dessert was gulab jamun which was nice and sweet after the curries. Atmosphere was very good and service quick and efficient.
I went by myself whilst on business. The food was very good. Had butter chicken (which came in a creamy tomato type sauce),chutney on the side, a cheese garlic type bread and mango ice cream top go. Staff were friendly and service very fast.
Visited Pickled Evenings on the suggestion of local while we were on a holiday in Tasmania. Having tried at other Indian Restaurants in Melbourne, we didn’t had high hopes from this place. But I have to say the food was as good as what you would get in New Delhi. The place had a warm cosy feeling to it and the food was served very quickly and to a very high standard. The staff was professional and knew the menu well. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Launceston.
Including the many wonderful evenings, we recently enjoyed their recently started lunch boxes which was another delightful experience. It was just $15 and really filling. Don’t miss out on this if you like Indian food.
